Dorel swallows Okla Homer Smith
Article Abstract:
Dorel Industries of Montreal, Quebec, has purchased Okla Homer Smith of Fort Smith, AZ, a maker of dressers and wood cribs, for $7.25 million in late August 1998. Dorel, Canada biggest furniture manufacturer with 1997 revenues of C$531.7 million, is incorporating its newly acquired company into Cosco, its main juvenile unit and the top marketer of metal cribs in North America. Cosco's president, Nick Costides, sees the addition of US wood crib maker as a logical expansion of his company's business.
