Friul Cassetti giving away Moscow trip, MIG flight

Friul Cassetti, the Italian bedroom furniture importer, is giving a free ride in a MIG supersonic fighter at a drawing at its showroom at the International Home Furnishing Center in High Point, NC, on Oct. 18, 1998. The promotion, which include first-class hotel accommodations in Moscow, Russia, and a tour of the capital, will be participated in by Michael Greene of Furniture/Today, who will pick the lucky winner. Friul Cassetti's four-day all-expenses-paid trip, open to anyone present at High Point, is being handled for the firm by Fly With Us!

Bassett rolling out ohome gallery format

Bassett Furniture will start unveiling its ohome galleries in the middle of September 1998 with a store in Delmar, DE. The furniture manufacturer designed ohome galleries to fit into stores, in strip malls or serve as stand-alone stores. At the San Francisco, CA, market in July 1998, six furniture dealers enlisted for ohome galleries, bringing the total of Bassett Furniture galleries planned for installation to 50. Bassett Furniture hopes to install about half of the 50 galleries by the end of 1998.

Pa. House teams with designer Blass

Pennsylvania House will market a whole-house furniture collection licensed by clothing designer Bill Blass. The Blass collection, which will be avialable in Oct 1997, consists of 60 pieces that are are mostly classic 18th and 19th century traditional furniture. The retail prices of these Blass pieces will be quite steep than the company's furniture line. Bill Blass will also help in marketing his furniture collection.
