High tech goes to the beach
Article Abstract:
An office building built in 1957 was renovated into a 1,500-square-foot loft from eight former medical offices in Miami, FL. The loft was designed by owner Yamir Perez to invoke a 1990s feel. The concrete beams are exposed and concrete pavers form the floor. Much of the design is influenced by the sea.

The renovation of a Dallas, TX, house built in the 1960s by Mil Bodron that has many windows is described. The stair rail was changed from wood to steel railings offset with wood and the terrazzo floor in the entry was replaced with Italian limestone. The interior decoration is sparse and casual.
