A list of the factors that sets leather upholstery consumers apart from their counterparts that buy fabric-covered upholstery is presented. The differences and similarities between the two groups depending on age, income and other reasons, based on a survey of Consumer Buying trends conducted by Furniture/Today are described.

The amount spent for youth bedroom furniture for 2001 can surpass $1.1 billion if the 3.5 million households that plan to purchase furniture go ahead with their plans. The majority of households buying youth bedroom furniture this year, 84%, are young, under the age of 45.
