Howard Stern spot touts Leather Factory
Article Abstract:
Leather Factory in California receives endorsement from radio shock jock Howard Stern whose smutty and abusive language on air makes listeners wonder what he would say next. Sy Katz, chairman and CEO of the leather upholstery retailer and maker, said the spots meet with success even if they are costly. During Stern's morning show and at other times of the day, Stern's pitch is a bit on the hard sell when he exhorts consumers to avoid middlemen who rip them off. Instead, he urges listeners to go to Leather Factory where goods are produced in America so import tariffs are not part of what customers would pay.

Wolf's grows, repositions
Article Abstract:
Wolf Furniture of Bellwood, PA, will unveil its sixth and biggest outlet in Harrisburg, PA, in the fall of 1998. The opening of the 62,000-sq-ft store, which will have approximately 50,000 sq-ft of display space, is aimed at not only expanding the store's client base in the region, but also in regaining its position in the list of the US' Top 100 retailers in 1999. The bigger-than-average furniture store is expected to enhance the firm's standard store features, such as a play area for children and a lounge with a big-screen TV for men.
