Success of RTA at retail continues to expand
Article Abstract:
Ready-to-assemble home office furnitures are capturing a bigger share of the RTA sales in four of eight furniture retailers as the whole RTA sector is set to grow to $1.3 billion in retail sales before the end of 1998. These findings from a study on furniture spendings of 50,000 households by The Polk Co., a market reseach firm, has revealed a home office share of around 26%, an increase from 1994's 20%. With the addition of home entertaintainment's share of 27%, down from 30% in 1996's second half, a 1998 RTA retail market share of above 50% is controlled by both segments.
