Penney's online sales rise 50%

The online sales of JCPenny in the year 2003 have increased by more than 50% and its direct-sale business and catalog business have also shown an improvement. John Irvin, the president of JCPenney Direct believes that people prefer to use the Internet as compared to the catalogs, as the catalogs have references to the Web sites, where the readers can find options and product information.

59 finalists vie for this year's Pinnacles

Around 59 finalists in 15 design categories has been chosen for the 10th Annual Pinnacle Design Achievement Awards from the American Society of Furniture Designers at New London, North Carolina.
