Retailers report mixed results

In the third quarter ended 31 October, San Francisco-based Williams-Sonama's revenues increased by 14.2% and net income rose by 19.2% as compared to last year's results for the same period. For Oakland, California-based Cost Plus World Market, the sales increased by 12%, but the net income dipped by 57% over the figures for the same period last year. Corte Madera, California-based Restoration Hardware reported sales increase of 23.3% for the same period in 2003, and a net loss of $3.1million.

3Q proves tough for kids retailers
Article Abstract:
The financial results of eleven publicly traded companies prove that the Kids Today's third quarter retailer scorecard was not as good as the second quarter. The figures for revenues, sales/sales decline, percentage increase in net earnings and other such calculations are reported.
