Roberds taps Baskin as president, CEO

Roberds has appointed Melvin Baskin its new president and CEO. Baskin, an industry veteran who has held executive positions with Breuners Home Furnishings Corp. and The Bombay Company, succeeds James Robeson, who was chosen the interim president and CEO in late 1997 after Ken Fletcher stepped down from the positions. Baskin, who was recently COO of Miami, FL-based Farm Stores, was lauded by Robeson as a man of great caliber. Robeson also stated that Roberds considered over 60 candidates for the positions.
