South Cone program to benefit Peruvians
Article Abstract:
South Cone Trading Co. has initiated a 'Giving Back' program aimed at creating a fund to finance economic advancement projects for Peruvians as well as to protect the rain forests in Peru. In particular, South Cone plans to use a percentage of its sales and promote fund-raising activities in order to operate a crafts and design school in Peru that will provide quality education and provide direction to a large number of native Peruvian craftsmen. The company will also educate other wood users about environmental awareness and profitability as well as improve technology to reduce wood scrap.
