Anti-harassment law reviewed

Article Abstract:

Belgium's 2002 law on harassment underwent public evaluation recently. The new law provides employees a framework to seek informal assistance and sparked a fierce debate among companies on the harassment issue. The evaluation highlights some shortcomings in the legislation, such as lack of clarity. It also establishes the need to modify and reform the prevention provisions and informal procedure under the new law.

Belgium: new committee to focus on self-employed people

Article Abstract:

The federal government has established a round table committee to examine the statute relating to self-employed people and to amend the statute in order to bring it more into line with that relating to employees. The cost measures designed to improve the social security situation for self-employed people would be shared between the government and the self-employed.
