Certifying international worker rights

Article Abstract:

A new approach is needed to protect labor rights after recent trade negotiations have failed to protect them. Efforts to make core worker rights a part of multilateral trade and investment agreements were not successful. A policy that will force greater priority for labor rights and unilateral action by the US government both for bilateral agreements and in deals with international trade and finance agencies is needed now.
