Employment law update: what's next from Brussels?
Article Abstract:
The European Council adopted a directive in Sep 1996 on employee rights for those required to work in different member states for temporary periods. A Parental Leave directive has been proposed. Issues invovling work councils, part-time employment equal treatment, sex discrimination, fixed-term work negotiations, and work time extention regulations are also discussed.
