Calsonic Llanelli Radiators takes the superhighway to harmonisation
Article Abstract:
The UK firm Calconic Llanelli Radiators harmonized its personnel management policies as part of an organizational makeover and three-year labor agreement reached in Apr 1997. Teamworking, employee grades, supervisorial levels, and job titles were revamped and single bargaining adopted for all staff. Overtime, sick pay, and other terms and conditions were made uniform for both office and manual employees. Buzzer-to-buzzer working was introduced as part of an overall move to just-in-time production and improved workplace flexibility.

Article Abstract:
London Transport's ethnic monitoring policies are designed to ensure racial equality in hiring and employment. Monitoring helps the company pinpoint and eliminate racial inequalities within its workforce. In an effort to streamline data collection and ensure accuracy, ethnic monitoring policies were revamped in 1994 and employee self-classification introduced. Managers help with the classification process when additional information is needed.
