Health and safety-Some 'red tape' needed for 'green light' for business, says conference

Article Abstract:

IOSH president Lawrence Waterman emphasized that tackling newer issues, such as occupational health support and stress, would demand more of the professional safety practitioner. One of the key aims for creating a safety culture should be to create relationships based on trust and this is most likely to be found in organizations that are decentralized, less formal, less hierarchical and focused on effectiveness, not efficacy.

Health and safety practitioners, environment professionals risks managers and company directors are all expected to attend Safety& Health Expo 2004. The Runaway will offer visitors the chance to see health and safety related products in action. Dramatically choreographed scenes will feature everything from protective clothing and breathing apparatus to life-saving equipment such as gas detectors and emergency defibrillators.
