Are plateaued performers productive?
Article Abstract:
Personnel professionals who acknowledge that career plateauing exists in the workplace can learn how to help plateaued workers to remain effective and motivated by providing such things as intervention training or job enrichment projects. However, to help plateaued workers, personnel managers must first learn that there are various types of plateaued workers including those who are: productively plateaued and enjoying their work; partially plateaued and interested in special projects; pleasantly plateaued and interested in maintaining status quo; and passively plateaued and fed up with work. Each type of plateaued worker requires different types of assistance, and it is important for personnel professionals to recognize that every workplace has its share of all four kinds of employees.
