Dual class and unequal voting rights plans are methods used by incumbent management to safeguard interest in a firm. Dual class are employed by incumbent management that has a large part in existing voting stock due to its more secured protection. Firms that are achievers and fast growing use dual class since they are more financially capable of buying new stocks. Incumbent management that has meager stake in a voting stock tend to utilize voting rights plans method because of its proven strength in voting rights and offers lower cost in getting stock issues.

Distributing channels suitable for technology-based companies are the most difficult to adopt. During the 1980s, the disk drive industry initially opted for direct sales channels. As the demands for the products increased and as the need for more sophisticated technologies also grew, the industry eventually utilized indirect channels of distribution. This indicates that companies ought to be flexible enough to adopt their distributing channels to the latest market trends and to the changing consumer demand.
