Article Abstract:
The politicians and benefit designers face the challenges that the pension benefit situation in Norway taken as a whole provides incentives for early retirement with serious consequences for the size of the working population. It is observed that there is no relationship between the contributions paid in and the pension benefits paid out on reaching retirement, and the number of years an employee works during his/her career is not reflected in any extra pension provision.
