CEOs express skepticism about selling on the Internet
Article Abstract:
The number of insurance company-sponsored Home Pages on the Internet's World Wide Web has increased, but few of the sites have interactive features that make on-line services a true marketing and distribution channel. Most Home Pages feature only general corporate information as many industry chief executives are skeptical about selling via the Internet. The CEOs are worried about the security and confidentiality of Internet transactions, issues that must be addressed before the Internet can live up to its promise as a marketing venue.

Establish e-mail policy to avoid legal pitfalls
Article Abstract:
Insurance companies should consider developing and implementing a corporate policy on the use of e-mail. While there have been numerous court cases, the case law is still unsettled on many of the liability issues surrounding e-mail. Basically, companies should inform employees that e-mail messages are not confidential, that the company owns the e-mail system, and that e-mail messages are stored and can be read by others.
