Nonprofits in the dark about liability risks
Article Abstract:
Many officials of nonprofit organizations are not aware of the extent to which they are exposed to liability risks and do not fully understand their insurance coverage for such risks. Nonprofits are far from immune to lawsuits. Claims resulting from employment issues are the most frequent claims brought against nonprofits' boards. Nonprofits' directors & officers liability policies cover not only top executives, but also employees, volunteers, trustees and others.

Marshall & Swift's Building Estimator is a computer program that helps European-based insurance companies cope with the continent's multifarious methods for valuing buildings. The program uses a unit-by-unit construction cost method used in the US and provides up-to-date unit costs for hundreds of European localities. Data for a given building can be input in the local language or in another language.
