Global trends predicted to remain steady in 1997
Article Abstract:
Speakers at the 1997 Ernst & Young's International Insurance conference analyzed the trends in international markets. Analysts expect continued consolidation, demutualization and soft markets. However, there are growth opportunities in the emerging markets of India and China. India should have premium capacity of at least $10 billion by the year 2000, and insurers should position themselves to take advantage of anticipated insurance reforms. China is expected to triple its premium volume from 1995 to 2000.
