JobValue: a measure of overall job worth
Article Abstract:
In arriving at a method for measuring the monetary value of specific jobs it is important to consider both the external and the internal value of the positions. The external variable should be based on market value, except in cases of unique positions without a market value. The internal variable should be based on the worth a person provides that is specific to that firm and goes above the labor market value of a position, such as a single person that fills more than one role in a company's organization. The JobValue model that these variables can generate uses regression analysis of market labor rates on weighted internal value rates.
