The ascension of Deacon Olive: every Sunday at Harlem's Abyssinian Baptist Church, a retired postal clerk assumes an exalted role

Article Abstract:

Cornelius Olive stands tall in the Abyssinian Baptist Church for more reasons than his 6'7" height. Olive is now an ordained layman, one of 38 deacons and chief usher who oversees the church's six usher boards.
