Lead-based paint law changes liability color
Article Abstract:
Lead-based paint liability insurance reforms, such as those enacted in Maryland, may provide insurers with the incentives to return to the market by limiting liability. Because of the widespread nature of residential lead contamination, many insurers have insisted that paint claims be excluded and some have denied coverage altogether. Maryland and other states have responded to the concerns that low-income housing would become less available by limiting liability. The laws also provide for periodic reviews and eventual 100% compliance.

EPL claims rising - where's the coverage?
Article Abstract:
Rising employment practices liability (EPL) claims are causing many companies to review insurance coverage and are proving a challenge to insurers. Greater public awareness and civil rights legislation have contributed to the growing number of EPL claims. The claims are based on sexual harassment, wrongful discharge and discrimination. Employers should consider adopting EPL endorsements or stand-alone EPL policies.
