Merger mania and the nonqualified plan
Article Abstract:
Companies and their stockholders should focus on protecting nonqualified plans in face of the growing trend towards mergers and acquisitions. Nonqualified plans could be reduced or eliminated during mergers and other changes in control. Among the devices and legal measures that can safeguard such plans are rabbi trusts, secular trusts, rabbicular trusts, individual securities, mutual funds, annuities and corporate-owned life insurance.
