NAIC keeps regulatory wheels rolling - slowly
Article Abstract:
The National Assn of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) plans to establish risk-based capital standards for the life insurance and property/casualty insurance industries by the end of 1992. This deadline may be hard to meet because of an administrative change that moved the sessions in which commissioners vote on model laws to the first day of a zone meeting instead of the last day. An NAIC task force has created a controversy through the issuance of a draft of the Assumption Reinsurance Model Act.
