Article Abstract:
The Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit has released decisions on cases concerning early retirement benefits. In 'Hein vs. FDIC,' the Court decided that the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 does not allow the addition of years of service acquired from several companies. In the case 'In Re New Valley Corp.' the Court ruled that appellants for retirement benefits can present extrinsic proof supporting their claims.
