Article Abstract:

The delivery of health care services must be reformed due to the intensifying competition in the market. Companies are now requiring health care providers to present proof on the quality of the health plans offered. Aside from quality issues, the cost-effectiveness ratios of health services are also evaluated. These issues are used in resolving the problem of medical necessity. This concept has emerged in various health care debates throughout the US.
