Single premium immediate annuity payouts study
Article Abstract:
Monthly payouts for single premium immediate annuities declined between 1985 and 1995, according to a study by Best's Policy Reports. The downward trend is consistent with other investment products that react to interest rates. The payout rate for annuities with a life and 10-year certain option fell 23% in that period, while the rate for fixed accumulation products fell 37%. A table showing the rates for the available products for male and female annuitants is provided. The rates are listed by company, divided into qualified and non-qualified, and broken down into age groups.
