Article Abstract:
The service interruptions experienced by Internet service provider Panix and America Online Inc, the largest online service in the US, underscored the new business threats with which insurers have to deal with. In the past insurers measured business interruptions in days, weeks or months but the advent of Internet-related businesses has created conditions under which it takes only nanoseconds to generate huge financial losses.

Change often involves a natural grieving process with a predictable set of behaviors.
