An Iraq syndrome?
Article Abstract:
The war in Vietnam led to a 'Vietnam syndrome', or a revulsion to American military peacekeeping in unrelated situations, and the American war in Iraq which has disturbing similarities with Vietnam is creating an 'Iraq syndrome' due to the continuing high human and financial toll. If the situation continues, it will definitely have an enormous impact on the methods and the goals of American foreign policy, and the cohesion of America's alliances.

America in Arab eyes
Article Abstract:
The balance of power in the Gulf region and within the Arab world has changed drastically due to the Iraq War, resulting in a political environment that will remain unstable for the foreseeable future. The imbalance will become more evident when American troops withdraw from Iraq, although the presence of US forces elsewhere in the Gulf will remain a major factor, but will have little impact on the Arab-Israeli conflict.

America and Iraq: The case for disengagement
Article Abstract:
The United States of America has achieved its intent in Iraq and should now along with the Iraqi government negotiate a US military disengagement from Iraq and shift its focus to containment of the conflict and strengthening the US military position elsewhere in the region. This will not mark the end of America's involvement in Iraq but would change the nature of America's commitment to the Iraqi people.
