Article Abstract:
An overview of the core features of Brazilian foreign policy, focusing on aspects like its economic and development objectives, commitment to multilateralism, regional politics and security and relations with the United States is presented. Stronger and healthier political institutions and practices would have a positive impact upon economic and social conditions in the country, and Brazils close connection between internal and external dynamics would allow it to assume its role as an intermediate state and a regional power with greater confidence and domestic support.
