Building women into peace: The international legal framework
Article Abstract:
The general trend in international peace-building projects since 1996 was the limited involvement of women in the institutional design of peace-building strategies and the possibility that peace building may actually reduce local women's agency in society. While discussing the modern enterprise of peace building, international legal principles that can serve as a framework for peace-building projects in which women's lives are taken seriously are identified.

Reintegration of ex-combatants and former fighters: A lens into state formation and citizenship in Namibia
Article Abstract:
The Namibian state formation and citizenship through the case of ex-combatant reintegration is examined, particularly focusing on government employment provision since the mid 1990s. The ex-combatant reintegration reflects the convergence of state capacity, patronage politics, a formally democratic political framework and security concerns and this duality is a constant tension in contemporary Namibia.
