Article Abstract:
This article explores the relationship between the United States soldiers stationed in China and the Chinese people during the Chinese Civil War. The author maintains the soldiers' relations with the civilians at the end of World War II and the beginning of the Chinese Civil War were fairly amicable, but worsened throughout the years with anti-American sentiment running high by 1946.

This article addresses Chairman Mao's foreign policy after the Cultural Revolution. The author, exploring Mao's perception of the world, argues Mao's foreign policy was based upon the two superpowers, the United States and the Soviet Union, in which Mao decided the Soviet Union was the more dangerous and Sino-American relations could be approved upon.
