Impetus for immigration reform: Asian refugees and the Cold War

Article Abstract:

This article discusses the history of the United States' immigration policy toward Asians. The author, analyzing the impact of the Cold War on immigration policy, argues the United States' concern over their image internationally during the Cold War forced them to adopt a non-discriminatory immigration policy in which the removal of small quotas for non-European immigrants opened up new opportunities for Asians.

Reconstructing war after the Cold War

Article Abstract:

A historically sensitive strategic perspective on war is suggested and is strengthened by investigating its historical relevance and also applying it to the evaluation of the post-Cold War conceptualizations of war. The influence of six essential factors on contemporary definitions of war is established.

Participation without collective identifications: Russia and the transatlantic security community in the post-Cold War era

Article Abstract:

The link between collective identification and security community of Russia and transatlantic community is examined by using Adler& BarnettE framework. Results conclude that Russia and Western peoples do not meaningfully identify with one another.
