Article Abstract:
The political relations between India and Pakistan have eased considerably since the 1999 Kargil conflict and the 2002 confrontation, with leaders on both sides trying to improve the conditions and do practical business together, including on Kashmir. Even though the security relationship does not seem to be seriously precarious, there is a need and scope for doing a good deal more to reduce risks.
