On war: lessons to be learned
Article Abstract:
Recent campaigns in Afghanistan, Iraq and Lebanon suggest prevailing military theory is misguided and military forces must abandon the illusion that technology can solve the problem of future conflict. A thorough study of contemporary conflicts in its various aspects such as political, military, diplomatic, economic and strategic is necessary to make it possible to adjust to new security challenges.

Does the UN have a role in Iraq?
Article Abstract:
There is an urgent need to find a solution to the situation in Iran though there does not seem to be a settlement in sight. Under such circumstances, an UN-led effort may be able to bring about a negotiated solution for Iraq, provided there is support by the United States, regional players and important members of the UN Security Council.
