Anti-poverty or anti-poor? the World Bank's market-led agrarian reform experiment in the Philippines
Article Abstract:
The study examined the reasons for the absolute failure of the World Bank program on market-led agrarian reform in the Philippines. Results revealed that although meant for the poorer classes it mainly benefited the upper and elite classes due to anti World Bank propaganda launched by local authorities.

'Willing buyer, willing seller': South Africa's failed experiment in market-led agrarian reform
Article Abstract:
The study was undertaken to assess the extent of success of South AfricaEs land reform program concept of 'willing buyer, willing seller'. Results showed that political games and an ownership of vast lands by individuals had hindered the successful implementation of the program.

Market-led agrarian reform: policies, performance and prospects
Article Abstract:
The study was undertaken to assess the pros and cons of the new concept of a market-led agrarian reform (MLAR). Results revealed that the so called neo-liberal economy has its repercussions on the land benefiting the capitalists but affecting the farmer.
