How the United States justified its war on terrorism: Prime morality and the construction of a 'just war'
Article Abstract:
The language embedded in government and non-government documents justifying the war on terrorism is used to examine the manner in which a hegemonic power constructed military extra-territoriality in a system of Sovereign states as just. The implicit geographic assumptions of just war theory are challenged thus extending the understandings of the imperative underlying the hegemonic power's construction of its military actions as morally right.

The misleading problem of failed states: A 'socio-geography' of terrorism in the post-9/11 era
Article Abstract:
The general belief that failed states support and facilitate terrorism is misleading, since in practice international terrorists do not appear to come from any of the failed states. A socio-geographic analysis of terrorism in the post 9/11 era suggests that terrorists come from alienated populations, may be even from non-failed states.
