James A. Kelly, assistant secretary of state for East Asian and Pacific affairs talks about North Korea's changing nuclear weapons program, which can threaten the security and stability as well as the economy of the region. He says that North Korea should end its nuclear arms program in its own national interests and comply with international obligations to get humanitarian and economic assistance from the U.S. and its own immediate neighbors.

China's armed forces consisting of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) and Navy (PLAN) closely integrate the conventional strategy with nuclear weapons in a warfighting role that intends to threaten or cause massive US casualties. American policy makers should be realistic about the prospect of intentional or inadvertent nuclear usage and escalation in any conflict with the PRC.

Why the United States should unsign the comprehensive test ban treaty and resume nuclear testing
Article Abstract:
The United States has committed itself to a ban on nuclear testing by signing the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (CTBT), but to make new designs of war heads and nuclear weapons more safe and reliable and to maintain the reliability of the nuclear stockpile, testing is required. To this effect, the CTBT has to be unsigned and the necessary steps be undertaken.
