Recasting the Atlantic Alliance
Article Abstract:
The military interventions in Bosnia have added a new perspective to the NATO agenda, and NATO's relevance has been diluted due to the absence of a common Cold War threat and changes in geopolitical, economic, and demographic factors. Emerging American economic interest in Asia-Pacific has also contributed to these changes in NATO. However, many commonalities in sociocultural aspects between the transatlantic partners will provide a common bondage in the future, if a restructuring of the alliance takes place in the changed circumstances.
