Recognising two states in Cyprus would facilitate co-existence and stability
Article Abstract:
It is misguided to argue that Turkey is standing in the way of a resolution of the Cyprus problem and that Turkey and the Turkish Cypriots should be punished if they fail to accept the Greek/Greek Cypriot solution for Cyprus. The Cyprus question will be resolved by the Turkish Cypriots and the Greek Cypriots, rather than the European Union or the US. However, the European Union must give a clear message that Cypriot membership will be conditional on the resolution of the outstanding issues between the two sides.

Living with a nuclear Iran?
Article Abstract:
The nuclear status quo in the Middle East, is starting to erode, with Iraq breaking out of IAEA and UNSCOM and Iran believed to be actively pursuing a nuclear option. Iran's acquisition of nuclear weapons could transform the regional balance of power and change the decision calculus of its leadership and it is important to understand Iran's motivations and the problems linked to deterring a nuclear Iran, to devise policies to dissuade or prevent it from crossing the nuclear threshold.
