The North Korean nuclear crisis and Japanese security

Article Abstract:

The North Korean nuclear crisis represents a complex set of internal and external security threats for Japan in the post-cold war context. Japan admits to the long term nuclear threat posed by North Korea but immediate concerns center on North Korean missiles and terrorist attacks that could destabilize the region and pressurize the US-Japan security system. Japan has initiated its own diplomatic and security arrangements to deal with this security issue. It refuses to consider a nuclear option as the only viable solution to the North Korean nuclear crisis.

Does Iran want nuclear weapons?

Article Abstract:

Revolutionary beliefs and gripes against the international order force Iran to improve its nuclear weapons capability. Iran's nuclear aspirations are also fuelled by threats posed by the US and the neighboring countries of Israel and Iraq. Iran's perceptions of inequality and discrimination should be quelled by the international community, which should strive to prevent Iran from pursuing its nuclear policies.
