The geographic spread of militarized disputes
Article Abstract:
The hypothesis that geograpic processes cause military conflict to cluster and diffuse is examined and a competitive test of potential explanations of the process of geographic spread is proposed. The regressions show that spread of individual disputes is a function of the issue over which they are fought, the presence of essential resources in host country, the prevailing terrain of that country, and the relevant conflict history of participants.

Article Abstract:
The role of economic factors in facilitating the transition to peace between former enemies and a less developed angle of the commercial liberalism approach is examined.
