The impact of analogical reasoning on the United States foreign policy towards Kosovo is discussed. The analogical reasoning employed by the chief United States negotiators, Madeline Albright and Richard Holbrooke, was the main reason for the failure to reach an agreement between the Yugoslav authorities and the Kosovar Albanians.
