The politics of corporate responsibility and child labor in the Bangladeshi garment industry
Article Abstract:
A detailed and documented analysis of the process leading up to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) concerning child labor in the Bangladeshi garment industry is described. It is stated that the industry critics were aware of child labor and tried to make the industry accept some kind of responsibility.

Hemispheric integration and subregionalism in the Americas

Attempts to make the entire Western Hemisphere into the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA) are reconfigurations and integrations of subregional blocs. One such is Mercosur, currently the focus of "bloc bargaining" issues as well as policy challenges posed by the FTAA project.
