Uncertainty of the liberal peace
Article Abstract:
Researchers are increasingly interested in whether the empirical existence of the democratic peace extends to that of a liberal peace in which trade interdependence, in addition to democracy, inhibits conflict. Accounting for uncertainty the Bayesian model averaging (BMA) is applied to the study of conflict, and it is found that trade interdependence does not have a significance effect on the prediction of militarized conflict, whereas the joint democracy continues to reduce conflict.

Assessing the basis for culture of peace in contemporary societies
Article Abstract:
Objective indicators that were selected to represent each of the presumed bases for a culture of peace were correlated with one another, and a factor analysis examined the extent to which the data cohered and could be accounted for by a single 'peacefulness' factor. The results suggest that four different peace factors need to be distinguished and these are correlated with different indices of peace and may be used to assess the relative peacefulness of different nation-states.

Peace, war and conflict: social representations shared by activists and non-activists
Article Abstract:
The use of social representations theory is suggested to provide a positive approach to peace research and a theoretical framework for understanding peace movements. Studying peace, war and conflict in this perspective enables exploration of these concepts as objects socially constructed, elaborated and shared by different groups.
