ADR: the Siemens experience

Siemens Corp. has made a commitment to alternative dispute resolution (ADR) for resolving business disputes. All Siemens' lawyers incorporate ADR beliefs and techniques into their work. Siemens believes in the European tradition of settling disputes in a non-adversarial manner. The company has had experience in many types of ADR, including private mediation, court-ordered mediation and binding arbitration. Siemens Corp is the US holding company for Germany's Siemens AG, which provides telecommunications, electronic, electrical and medical services.

Integrating ADR: a matter of legal practice
Article Abstract:
Lawyers must incorporate alternative dispute resolution (ADR) methods into their practice because the rest of society has accepted ADR. Courts have established ADR programs, clients demand ADR programs and the government has endorsed them. Drafting ADR clauses is an important component of business law. ADR will become more popular in the 21st century as an alternative to litigation. Lawyers must accept ADR to retain their clients.
