Costly principles; Pentagon forces law schools to choose between federal funding and backing of gay rights
Article Abstract:
Law schools have accepted reluctantly the Solomon Amendment, which denies federal support to schools who bar military recruiters due to nondiscrimination policies. The Pentagon made a list of such law schools and these agreed to lift the bar rather than lose support. The Ass'n of American Law Schools has long had a nondiscrimination policy which includes sexual orientation and wants law schools to take steps to ameliorate the negative effect of the new policy on law school environment.

From bum's rush to bum rap; Rose Law Firm rebuilds after improper shredding of its reputation
Article Abstract:
Even before Bill Clinton's presidency a loose management style and lack of accountability contributed to the problems of the Rose Law Firm, but overly critical media coverage of the firm during the Clinton presidency and the mudslinging which occurred during the Senate Whitewater hearings almost brought the firm down. Once among the too three in Little Rock and enjoying a sterling reputation, Rose is now the fourth largest and may not attract the same caliber of lawyer as before.
