Adopting an Executive Protection Program
Article Abstract:
Executive protection involves the steps taken to prevent harm coming to a company's top staff members. The steps are physical, procedural, psychological, attitudinal and technological. The harm could be kidnapping, harassment, or death. The security effort covers the executives' home, office, vehicle and family members. The security director must conduct a threat analysis before executive protection can be undertaken. Sources of information in this area include government agencies, private risk assessment services and the executive's corporation. The security director then determines the extent of protection required. Protective factors include kidnap insurance, armored cars, body guards and guns carried by the executives.
